Two new articles were created by decree on April 19, 2021.
They require employers to offer employees training in first aid, defibrillator use, etc., before they retire.
Employees concerned: employees who are retiring, prior to their departure.
Training objectives: to enable employees to acquire the skills needed to :
- Ensure their own safety, that of the victim or any other person, and provide the emergency services with the information they need to intervene;
- React to external bleeding and place the victim in an appropriate waiting position;
- React to a victim in cardiac arrest and use an automated external defibrillator.
Training time: training must take place during the employee's working hours and is considered as actual working time.
Training organizations: the organizations authorized to provide training will be defined by a decree (pending).
Penalties for failing to offer the employee training: the law doesn't specify this, which doesn't necessarily mean that there isn't any.
