Minimum wage increase & others

SMIC

As of May^1, 2022, the SMIC has been raised to €10.85 (from €10.57 as of January^1, 2022).

The monthly minimum wage is therefore €1,645.58 for a working week of 35 hours.

Guaranteed minimum

The increase in the SMIC means that the Guaranteed Minimum Wage will rise to €3.86 (from €3.76 on January^1, 2022).

The Guaranteed Minimum is mainly used to assess benefits in kind for food in the hotels, cafés and restaurants (HCR) sector.

It is one of the essential components of minimum social benefits.

Fraction of salary exempt from seizure

As CAF benefits were revalued on April¹, 2022, the lump-sum amount of the RSA, and therefore the fraction of salary that cannot be seized, is now €575.52.
